WTMD's Virtual First Thursdays
When Covid-19 forced the cancellation of our 2020 First Thursday Festival season, we decided the show must go on, in one form or another. First Thursdays is the city’s biggest free live music series — our love letter to Baltimore — and more than ever, we craved the sense of community that comes with it.
So, we launched Virtual First Thursdays, which began as a livestream but quickly morphed into a two-hour TV special, complete with oddball commercials and regular features like CouchCam and the trivia game Where’s Alex?
And with large scale festivals still on pause in 2021, we’re launching another season of Virtual First Thursdays, starting May 6 and continuing each month through Sept. 2.
The May 6 Virtual First Thursday Festival, presented by Reyka Vodka, features performances from LP, Cautious Clay, Manchester Orchestra, Middle Kids, Cris Jacobs live from Stages Music Arts and more! Plus, comedy from John Nagle, Alex’s Cocktail Corner, Couch Cam and more.
Grab your favorite snacks and beverages and join us on the WTMD Facebook page at 7:30 p.m. Thursday May 6 to kick off the 2021 Virtual First Thursday Festival season.
While couches may be the most popular place to watch tomorrow’s Virtual First Thursday Festival, a few Baltimore businesses are hosting watch parties with VFT drink specials.
In Federal Hill, Little Havana Restaurante y Cantina is offering beer, wine and Reyka vodka specials.
A bit farther north, the Mt. Washington Tavern has deals on wine, beer and Reyka.
And our pals over at Monument City Brewing Company have beer specials as well!
