Izzi Bavis is a radio host, music nerd, and bike enthusiast in Baltimore City. She grew up in the Midwest where she fell in love with radio at a young age. That passion for radio turned into a career when she moved to Baltimore in 2022 to work at Baltimore Public Media. Since joining WTMD, she has worked to spotlight the local music scene with her round up of local shows feature and highlighting local musicians. She enjoys talking with Baltimore artists on her show and playing songs from her favorite bands such as Wednesday and Boygenius.
In the Pit with Izzi Bavis is a two-hour program dedicated to Baltimore’s hardcore and punk scene. Each week, Izzi will dive deep into catalogues, find up and coming bands to watch, and be right with you learning about one of the most important parts of the Baltimore music scene. Saturday nights, 10pm to midnight. Suggestions encouraged at [email protected].
Outside of the studio you can find Izzi biking around town, drinking coffee, and at local shows.
