Chief of Staff / Director of Board Relations

The Chief of Staff/Director of Board Relations contributes to the mission of Baltimore Public Media by providing administrative support to the President and General Manager and exceptional service to all constituents who interact with the President’s office. The Chief of Staff conducts all activities with discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism. The Chief of Staff works independently to contribute to the responsiveness, effectiveness and accessibility of the President’s office and related activity. This role also engages deeply with staff and is the liaison and responsible for all aspects of managing relations with the Board of Directors and Community Advisory Board.

Institutional Giving Manager

Baltimore Public Media is the public radio service for Baltimore, Central Maryland, and the Eastern Shore. We are WYPR 88.1 FM (NPR News) and WTMD 89.7 FM (AAA music) and we are seeking a full-time Institutional Giving Manager (IGM) to contribute to the strategic growth of both stations by developing and implementing strategies to increase philanthropic support from foundations, corporations, and other organizations. The IGM will serve as a key member of the Major Gifts & Institutional Giving department. This includes tracking funding needs and strategy; prospect research; maintaining the calendar of grant applications; project management for grant applications; writing, preparing, and submitting Letters of Interest (LOIs) and grant applications; calendaring, tracking, and submitting grant reporting on grant deliverables; tracking all documents and program information required by funders; maintaining grants tracking, filing, and database entries; summary of awarded applications and project management of award signature process; developing and fostering relationships with public and private grantmakers.

Radio Underwriting Sales Executive

Baltimore Public Media is the public radio service for Baltimore, Central Maryland, and the Eastern Shore. We are WYPR 88.1 FM (NPR News) and WTMD 89.7 FM (AAA music) and we are seeking a full-time sales professional to join the underwriting team. The Sales Account Executive will be a part of a collaborative and successful sales team. The ideal candidate is responsible for developing revenue by soliciting business, non-profit, and foundation support in the form of underwriting on radio, digital platforms, and event sponsorship. You will use your strong relationship-selling skills and develop win-win solutions for our sponsors as they align their brands with the highly valued and trusted resource of public media in the Baltimore area. This goal-focused candidate must be able to interpret industry qualitative & quantitative research. If you are super professional, passionate, resilient, and a very creative thinker who can work together with the programming and membership departments of both stations and creatively develop and combine opportunities, please apply.  Prior media sales experience is a major plus.

News Host Full-Time (WYPR)

WYPR 88.1 FM is Baltimore’s NPR radio station. The live News Host will guide WYPR’s listeners through daily news programming in ways that are listener-focused, engaging, personable, and timely.  They will be good company, an engaging guide, and let listeners know what’s happening each day in Baltimore and the world. The host delivers the highest public radio standards for presenting news, weather, and produced content. The host will also create periodic content for broadcast and digital (e.g., fundraising, web, production, and participating in live on-air fundraising), and fill in on other shifts as needed.

Freelance Reporter in Frederick (WYPR)

WYPF & WYPR are seeking a Frederick County-based freelance reporter who can give voice to those Marylanders in the sixth congressional district including Garrett, Allegany, Frederick, and Washington counties as well as a portion of Montgomery County. They will have the curiosity and skills to cover and uncover a wide swath of stories with accuracy and a compelling narrative. This position will report to the news director and in their absence, the executive director of news. You will bring a toolkit that shows demonstrated acumen in field production, breaking news coverage, community news, and feature stories. While this position is remote, you will be fully immersed in newsroom training and take part in team-building exercises and meetings when applicable.
