WTMD posts its open positions here and distributes job postings to interested organizations via fax. Organizations interested in receiving WTMD position openings should send a letter of request to WTMD, Position Openings, 1 Olympic Place, Suite 100, Towson, MD 21204. WTMD uses a variety of fee-based and non fee-based web site and publications to announce our openings.

Director of Content
Your Public Radio is the public radio service for Baltimore, Central Maryland and the Eastern Shore. We are WYPR (the NPR News service for our region) and WTMD (the AAA music service for our region). We are also engaged in an exciting three-year joint operating agreement with the Banner, Baltimore’s new Non-profit online news organization.
The Opportunity: Your Public Radio is at an exciting nexus as we continue to integrate the WTMD operation, and move decisively into our partnership with The Banner. The Content Director will be at the strategic center of our comprehensive public service to the people of our region.
Reaching diverse new audiences and deepening the loyalty of existing listeners and users are the keys to expanding the reach and impact of our public service mission. Likewise, a growing audience supports every dimension of our business, building the resources we need to sustain our services.
The Content Director is the strategic leader of WYPR’s audience efforts across all our platforms. Advises and envisions, plans, directs and develops programming activities of Baltimore’s NPR News station WYPR and AAA station WTMD. Ensures high quality on-air presentation of programming in support of audience development goals and the station’s public service mission to the surrounding community. Determines the program content of WYPR by planning and scheduling compelling content through on-air and digital channels. Determines what programs, news broadcasts, and other program material are offered to the public on WYPR. Supervises WTMD Program Director and ensures integration and strategic connection between the two services. Is a lead in driving the Joint Operating Agreement with the Banner.

Radio Underwriting Sales Executive
WYPR 88.1 FM and WTMD 89.7, Baltimore’s NPR Public Radio duo is seeking a full-time sales professional to join the underwriting team. Candidate must be highly motivated and can develop new client relationships through cold calling, networking, and referrals from existing clients. Candidate must be knowledgeable in service to existing clients of the stations as assigned. This goal focused candidate must be able to interpret industry qualitative & quantitative research. Candidate should have knowledge of digital advertising principles and digital sales assets as well as excellent presentation and closing skills. If you are super professional, passionate, resilient and a very creative thinker who can work together with the programming and membership departments of both stations and creatively develop and combine opportunities, please apply. Director of Major Giving
Your Public Radio is the public radio service for Baltimore, Central Maryland, and the Eastern Shore. We are WYPR (NPR News) and WTMD (AAA music) and we are looking for our new Director of Major Giving (DMG). The DMG will support Your Public Radio’s efforts to reach ambitious, transformative goals to sustain the growth of the station and broaden public radio programming in Maryland. This role will report to the Director of Development and work closely with the broader development team to identify, cultivate, steward, and solicit donors and prospects at the major gifts levels to fund the operations of the station, capital expenditures, special projects, and programming. The ideal individual is a detail-oriented self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for public radio. A background in Development and Major Giving is essential as well as knowledge of the overall giving community within Maryland.

Producer
WYPR is seeking a Producer to work in conjunction with the Host and Supervising Producer of Midday, they will assist with the planning and booking of topics and guests for five, one-hour live radio shows per week. The Producer will also assist with producing and editing content for Midday digital assets to include websites, social media and podcasts. The Producer will focus on our overall goal of providing diverse, relevant and credible topics for the WYPR and Midday listening community.
