Embracing Authenticity with Kotic Couture

Kotic Couture is the queen of the underground in Baltimore. She moved here from the Eastern Shore in 2015 and quickly made a name for herself as a performer.

She’s shared the stage with many musicians, including Dan Deacon, who welcomed her on stage for a Halloween show in 2017 at what is now called the Compound. She also solidified herself as a MC at the Crown and celebrated its closing in 2024 with one final party.

Kotic and I talked about the Baltimore music scene, events to look out for, and musicians that should be on everyone’s radar. Above all, she reminded everyone that authenticity is the most important attribute to have here in Baltimore.
