The music scene in Carroll County is thriving thanks to the community that embraces it.

Jake Fine, a music teacher, musician, and resident of Westminster, created Fine Tuned after graduating college. The production company puts on shows around Carroll County and reminds everyone that there is music, art, and culture everywhere—even right at home. Since 2023, Fine has brought live music to skate parks, old churches, and a former opera house. His mission is to curate high quality shows that are safe for everyone to attend.

Fine Tuned is a company, but to Fine and the people that attend the shows it is more than just a business. Fine says, “It’s sweet to see the music that comes out of a “hungry” scene.” And he sees Westminster as one of those communities wanting more music and events.

The next show for Fine Tuned is a co-production with the Carroll Arts Center on May 8, 2026 for the Westminster Flower and Jazz Festival. This show will feature Ahmed Warshanna’s Ishta! performing jazz renditions of songs by The Beatles.

On May 27, 2026 Nordista Freeze attempts a world record, and Westminster is representing Maryland. Nordista Freeze will play 50 concerts in 50 states over the course of 30 days. The show is at Community Media Center Media Center of Carroll County and features an opening act based in Maryland, Jeff Draco.
