On Wednesday, October 29, Bahamas joined WTMD—along with nearly 100 other music stations nationwide—to celebrate Public Radio Music Day—a movement that demonstrates how public radio music stations bridge divides across the country and play a unique role in supporting access to music in rural and urban communities.
Bahamas performed an intimate happy hour set at local staple, Metro Baltimore, for a few hundred WTMD listeners. This comes off the heels of the release of his new album, “My Second Last Album,” out Oct. 24 on Jack Johnson’s Brushfire Records.

Through the release of six albums, Bahamas has garnered a passionate fanbase in North America and overseas. Bahamas’ biggest streaming track “Lost In The Light” has garnered close to 230 million plays, while “All The Time” has over 130 million. 2020’s Sad Hunk won the Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. Bahamas has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, CBS Saturday Morning, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s “PlayAtHome” series.

Afie Jurvanen, aka Bahamas, left city life behind for Nova Scotia, where he recorded his new LP in a shed studio with drummer/friend Joshua Van Tassel. My Second Last Album blends soul, folk, country-funk & pop, with candid lyrics about family, resilience, & finding peace outside the spotlight. From the groove of “Feels So Good” to the playful candor of lead single “The Bridge,” it’s one of Bahamas’ most personal and essential works to date.
