SHEROES Radio (Saturday, 8a – 9a): Tune in for another week of bada** women in music!
The Underground Archives (Sunday, 8a – 10a): We’ll be banging out songs that feature some tasty and rhythmic mallet percussion. We’ll also remember the late Free guitarist, Paul Kossoff. The penultimate edition of The Summer Of Hey Joe is on the docket, as well.
American Routes (Sunday, 3p – 5p): When we asked Lyle Lovett why he didn’t stick with journalism, he said “It’s hard to sing the newspaper.” We’ll hear all about it (and more) when we sit down in conversation. The late Howard Tate was a master of soulful singing, bringing his bluesy touch and deep meaning to such classics as “Get it While You Can” and “Ain’t Nobody Home.” We’ll talk about his life in Philadelphia’s gospel and soul scenes, and his path back to the stage.
Detour (Sunday, 5p – 7p): New music by Letitia VanSant and Sam Nitzberg & That’s That; Old music by Jefferson Airplane and The Klezmatics; Music from Germany/Türkiye, Zimbabwe, Spain (Basque Country), England, Scotland, Denmark, and Canada plus plenty from the USA; and there will be no prize for bad ideas on Pine Mountain.
