SHEROES Radio (Saturday, 8a – 9a): Tune in for another episode of bad a** women making waves in the music industry.
The Underground Archives (Sunday, 8a – 10a): A squadron of British blues bands will patrol the airwaves on this Sunday’s show to help drive away yer blues. They’ll get some assistance from their American allies, as well.
American Routes (Sunday, 3p – 5p): The late Richie Havens and his tenure as a Greenwich Village portraitist and his legendary opening act at Woodstock, a conversation with artist Peter Max, known for his pop-art colors, cosmic subjects, and iconic album covers, and a visit to Nashville’s Hatch Show Print, who printed posters for musicians from Bessie Smith to Johnny Cash, for a primer on the art of letterpress.
Detour (Sunday, 5p – 7p): New music by The Polkats and Brad Kolodner; Old music by Salif Keita w/Cesária Évora and Dr. Didg; Music from Canada (lots!), England, Ireland, USA/India, Scotland, and Mali plus plenty from the USA; and ain’t no sunshine on the porpoise up in the attic.
