The original band are said to have benefited greatly from the invention of classic rock radio. They remain a staple in this format and with five number one singles, six number one albums and six Grammy awards they are one of the most successful acts of the 1970’s.
The Shadow band sings mostly in Spanish but hail from France. Some may think one of the words in their name is a misspelling but according to the Oxford English Dictionary either can be used.
The song is widely thought to be the best known recording by the original band.
