The 5 O’clock Shadow: Monday June 21, 2021
This song is a quintessential summer anthem, “the time is right”.
The song was inspired by a drive through Detroit in the summertime when the city would open up the fire hydrants so people could play in the water and cool off.
Marvin Gaye helped write this 1964 classic.
The original artist used this song’s title as the title for her 1995 autobiography.
Something about the carefree vibes and blissed out attitudes surrounding the Shadow artist, or maybe it was just those summer tours but, many equate them with the laid back feelings of the summer months.
