It’s a week of ghosts, goblins and ghoulish tunes on The 5 O’clock Shadow all leading to a spooktacular hours’ worth of Halloween themed songs for today’s Friday’s Feature Presentation.
This is arguably the most successful novelty song of all time. It accomplished the rare feat of reaching the top 100 music chart three different times, in 1962, 1970 and 1972.
The original artist was a big fan of horror movies and did an impression of the actor Boris Karloff (known for playing the monster in many Frankenstein movies) during his nightclub act.
The Shadow artist are known as the originators of the musical subgenre Horror Punk. The band was founded by Glenn Danzig in 1977.
