The 5 O’clock Shadow: Thursday September 24, 2020
The Shadow artist grew up in Rockville and turned 62 on Tuesday.
The original artists started out playing a raw, primitive style, selling few and solidifying a reputation for confrontational performances, which often involved acts of self-mutilation by their lead singer. They are now considered a seminal punk band and were inducted in to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
This track is well known for its three-chord riff and a continuously repeated single piano note, played by Velvet Underground founding member John Cale, who also produced the track. Also, there are sleigh bells.
