The Shadow band are led by a woman whose last name is a letter.
The original artist are one, if not the greatest American punk band of the 20th century, though in their era they we’re not commercially successful and struggled financially throughout their career. It pains me every time I say it but none of the original members are alive.
The song is notable for being one of the first to explicitly refer to “punk rock” in its lyrics.
