The original artist are punk-rock pioneers. They took their name from the pseudonym Paul McCartney would use when on the road with The Beatles.
The Shadow artist’s name comes from a baseball anecdote. In addition to their originals they are known for covering lots of other artist’s songs.
Green Day performed this song at the 2002 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies when the original band were inducted.
