The California Shadow artist’s drummer is the subject of an award winning documentary film about raising awareness for organ donation.
John Lennon and Paul McCartney were inspired to name their band The Beatles because of the influence of the original artist and his own insect-themed band name. Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger, both still teenagers, got to see the original artist perform live and were equally inspired.
The song did not chart when it was released in 1957.
