The original artist became globally popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Emerging in the British new-wave scene, they played a style of rock influenced by punk, reggae, and jazz. Their lead singer’s nick name was planted on him because of his favorite black and yellow, striped sweater.

The Shadow artist previously did an album of Olivia Newton-John covers. Her most recent album is all covers of today’s original artist.
