Today’s show was inspired by this morning’s guest, Greg Houston, illustrator, and co-founder of the Baltimore Academy of Illustration. We’ll hear songs about colors, painting, drawing, artists, and art in general. I was particularly excited to find BMA SONGS in my music library, thanks to my musician artist friend Charles Brohawn. The CD is out of print now, but back in 2000 it was the “Song Pack” part of the Baltimore Museum of Art’s Art + Fun = BMA Packs, “three unique portable packs, each with a distinct theme, offering visitors active approaches to learning through song, dress-up, and drawing! A one-of-a-kind interpretive tool within the field of museum education, the Song Pack is a toe-tapping tour-in-song of the collection. Visitors explore the Museum galleries with a portable CD player, earphones, and CD of original songs inspired by artwork in the collection—composed and performed by local musicians and elementary school children.” We’ll hear a couple of songs from that CD, along with kindie music from Tim Kubart, Peter Himmelman, Best Coast and more.

Enjoy, and don’t forget to follow us on Instagram and Facebook at youngatheartradio.
