A former light heavyweight boxer, this singer and crooner channeled Roy Orbison, hung up his gloves, and became a totally different type of hit maker.  He and his band recorded this song because it was fun to sing.

These classic hit makers from America’s Heartland simply wanted to be wanted by you. They were huge in Japan, received with a Beatlemania type frenzy and their first three records went gold there.  They were ignored in the states until a live record, intended for Japanese audiences only, became available stateside.  It would launch them into international stardom.
