Three Junior High School friends in California started out as “The Blue Velvets” and then were joined by the older brother of one member. Their name was changed to a children’s literary character and later to a name that in part, symbolized a renewed commitment to the band.
The song title also became the title of the 9th studio solo album by the song’s writer. The original band split up in 1972.
Our Shadow artist celebrates a milestone today. She started out with her family group at the age of eleven. In more recent years she has collaborated on three albums with a founder of the “No Depression” genre.
