A fantastic 5 disc Grateful Dead cover album “Day of the Dead” was released on this day a few years back as a fundraiser for Red Hot Organization. This album featured a wide array of Indie artists. Today we are looking for 2 artists shadowing 2 different Dead tunes.
Artist number one is an Australian singer/songwriter known for witty wordsmithing and a deadpan delivery. The song was written about a concert disaster that took place in 1969.
Artist/s number two are a British band known for playing Americana. It is said that the song was at least partially inspired by the Dead’s rakish road manager and his various entanglements with women.
The 5 O’Clock Shadow is presented by Coney Island Brewing Company
