Dig into this week’s Saturday Alternative playlist! The Fitting Room album was Hope Downs by Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, out now on Sub Pop.

Over the past two years, Melbourne’s Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have built an impressive following with a couple EP’s of jangly, guitar-driven garage rock. On their debut full length, Hope Downs – out now on Sub Pop – the band’s sound is fully realized, and more energized then ever before, in part due to them recording the songs live in-studio. The album was very much inspired by current events happening around them while they were writing. “We were feeling like we were in a moment where the sands were shifting and the world was getting a lot weirder,” said singer/guitarist Tom Russo. “There was a general sense that things were coming apart at the seams and people around us were too.”
