The original artist emerged from the London folk scene in early 1965 and was often called the “Scottish Bob Dylan.” He would later become friends with George Harrison and his music would take on a more spiritual and mystic tone.

This band would become one of the top heavy metal bands of the 1970’s. Early on, though, they recorded lots of cover songs because no one in the band knew how to write a proper song. This one sounds like it could be about Layla’s similarly named musical cousin.
