Happy Earth Day weekend! We’ll be starting your day off with some musical inspiration with Earth-centric tunes to help you celebrate. This year’s Earth Day focus is plastics and cutting down the adverse impact they have on our environment. Maybe you’ll be in a garden tending to plants or cleaning up some trash along a stream walk while toting your own non-plastic water bottle. It’s all good, and good for you. Brian Simms and Tom Moon from Milkshake will be here for Talking Tunes and today’s tune is “Acadian Driftwood” by The Band. Our Adult Kid is none other than one of the greenest activist musicians I know, Jack Johnson. Jack has released many great CDs for adults, but in 2005, Jack recorded a soundtrack for the movie Curious George chock full of great songs for everyone. Here’s a video for “The 3 R’s” – reduce, reuse, recycle.

I hope you enjoy this hour of songs and conversation celebrating and caring for our planet. Happy Earth Day!
