If there’s one sentence I’ve said more than any other on this show, it’s this one: “King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are back with new music.” Melbourne’s ever ambitious psych rock band set a big goal for themselves at the beginning of this year, and they’ve almost succeeded. Polygondwanaland is their fouth out of five studio albums they’ve promised to deliver in 2017, and while I would almost always insist on quality over quantity, Stu Mackenzie and company never fail to deliver something worthwhile. For fans of heady, heavy and progressive psychedelia, this band is a goldmine. The band has made the entire album available for free at their Bandcamp.
