Mike McFadden first graced WTMD’s airwaves in August of 2010, when he was a guest on Baltimore Unsigned (years before it became Baltimore Hit Parade), and from the first notes sung, we were certain he was something special. His voice comes from somewhere deep down, and projects outwardly in a wave of jubilation – the kind of impassioned folk-rock that makes even a tiny basement studio feel more like a wide open field.

A few years back he moved to Brooklyn to follow his dream of playing music for a living, teaming up with bassist Anthony Saladino and drummer Anthony Spinnato to form Animal Years. The band will release their new Far From Home EP this Friday on eONE Records, produced by Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Brandi Carlile, Vance Joy), and they just shared the music video for lead single, “Caroline.” If you’re into moon-bounces and wacky-inflatable-tube-men (and really… who isn’t?) then you’ll get a kick out of this.
