Our Adult Kid this week is Ray Charles, a brilliant, towering musical figure who through his singing and piano playing helped invent soul and R&B music. Besides his amazing catalog of tunes for adults, Ray was a guest on Sesame Street performing “I Got A Song” with Ernie and Burt, and “Bein’ Green” with Kermit, a song he sometimes performed on his own when appearing in concert or on TV shows.
Sometimes we have a theme here at Young At Heart, and today we’ll be playing songs about food. I love food. And there’s nothing like a good meal shared with friends, so I hope you enjoy sharing some food tunes with me this morning. We’ll also be Talking Tunes with Brian and Tom – today’s tune is “Peaches” by The Presidents of United States of America.
As always, you are welcome to write me with song ideas and even just to say hello: [email protected]. I’d love to hear from you!
Bon Appetit!
Lisa
