This Saturday we’ll be playing songs that celebrate city and neighborhood life. The places where we live are usually full of interesting things to sing about, and I’ve found all kinds of songs to play inspired by cities and neighbors. Our Adult Kid is Carole King, who, besides writing over 100 pop hits, wrote the score to Really Rosie, a musical based on books by Maurice Sendak, and we’ll hear “My Simple Humble Neighborhood.” Here’s the TV special for “Really Rosie.”
Our Talking Tunes song is “Penny Lane” by the Beatles.
If you have suggestions for songs, please email me: [email protected]
