It’s Fathers Day weekend and we’ll be celebrating dad with some dad-centric, family-centric tunes on this week’s Young At Heart. Our Adult Kid is Danny Weinkauf, a dad, long-time They Might Be Giants bassist and kindie artist with two CDs for kids and a new as-yet unnamed CD on the way. I spoke with Danny and his Red Pants Band after their wonderful show at Saturday Morning Tunes last month. Danny sent me a song from the forthcoming release to share with listeners, and we’ll hear that, as well as “Mesopotamians,” a song from his work with They Might Be Giants. Here’s a video:
We’ll also be checking in with Brian Simms and Tom Moon of the Milkshake band for another Talking Tunes. This week’s song is “Movin’ Right Along,” a tune from the Muppets movie.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there – have a great day!
