The original band’s debut album turned 50 years old yesterday. With only about 30,000 albums sold, not a huge amount of people were going bananas over it at the time (except for maybe Andy Warhol). However, as Brian Eno once said, “everyone who bought one of those 30,000 copies started a band.

The Shadow artist is best known as the frontman for a popular indie-rock band who, like the original band, hails from New York City, although this band came several decades later.
