The Rolling Stones have officially announced their first new album in over a decade! Blue & Lonesome is set for release on December 2, and according to a press release, “takes the band back to their roots and the passion for blues music which has always been at the heart and soul of the Rolling Stones.”
Recorded in three days at British Grove Studios in West London with producer extraordinaire Don Was, the album contains 12 covers of songs by legendary bluesmen like Howlin’ Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon, Eddie Taylor, Little Walter and more, all tracked live in-studio with little to no overdubs. Eric Clapton has joined them in studio for two of the songs as well.
The first single they’ve shared is “Just Your Fool,” originally by Buddy Johnson and His Orchestra, and later recorded by Little Walter in 1960. Hear it below.
