—-FITTING ROOM—-

Beloved New Jersey indie rockers Real Estate called it quits a few months ago… at least for the time being… and their guitarist Matt Mondanile wasted no time releasing new music as Ducktails which he had been doing on and off for years…But their singer Martin Courtney used this as an opportunity to release his first ever solo album and its such an incredibly pleasant listen. His songs.. and his voice have a super chill quality too them, just as they did with real estate, but he’s taking his time even more here on Many Moons… which we’ll be trying on today. We’ll hear three tracks as always… and we’ll begin with Vestiges……. This is Martin Courtney… here in the Fitting Room.. on the Saturday Alternative.. on 89.7 WTMD..

Vestiges – Martin Courtney – Many Moons

Northern Highway – Martin Courtney – Many Moons

Airport Bar – Martin Courtney – Many Moons

Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In) – White Denim

We’ll end here with a cover from the amazing, genre mashing Austin Texas band White Denim… Not sure if you’ve been keeping up with the second season of Fargo on FX… but if you’re not… you’re truly missing out. I haven’t been this hyped about a show since breaking bad… Everything about it from the story, to the acting, to the cinematography to the music is top notch… This cover was used in the last episode… a nod to the cohen brothers who used the original version in the The Big Lebowski… its White Denim’s cover of Mickey Newbury’s tripped out 1967 song Just Dropped in To See What Condition My Condition was in…
