Robert Ellis 2
The twang of Texas-native Robert Ellis draws you into his songs. It’s warm and intensely expressive, like Jason Isbell’s or Jesse Malin’s.

His second album on New West Records The Lights From The Chemical Plant features characters walking a fine line, and sophisticated pop-crafting in the vein of one of his heroes, Paul Simon, whom he covers.

And it’s produced by rock heavyweight Jacquire King, so there’s some dramatic, echo-drenched guitars and crashing drums that dance with the ever-present pedal steel.

Check out Robert Ellis and his band in what turned out to be one of the most stellar-sounding sessions we’ve had!
