The singer-songwriter with the James Taylor-like warmth in his voice just put out, perhaps, his best album, Mountains of Sorrow, Rivers Are Song.
It’s got plenty of atmospheric rock textures to compliment the traditional Americana sounds of Jerry Douglas’s dobro and Alison Krauss’ Appalachian pipes.
