A big birthday to start out with, Colonel Tom Parker was born today in 1910. Before managing Elvis, the shifty Colonel ran a troupe of dancing chickens. He died in 1997.
Brazilian Minister of Culture and singer song writer Gilberto Gil is 71 today.
Sir Mick Jones of the Clash turns 58 today, happy birthday Mick.
Chris Isaak turns 57 today.
And finally, Colin Greenwood, the bass player for Radiohead turns 44 today.

In 1974, Cher divorced Sonny Bono after 10 years of marriage and then mmarried Gregg Allman four days later.
On this day in 1977, Elvis Presley made his last live stage appearance at the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis. The last two songs he performed were ‘Hurt’ and ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water.’ Before the show Elvis was presented with a plaque commemorating the 2 billionth record to come out of RCA’s pressing plant. Presley would die less than two months later.
And on a cheerier note. Julia Roberts and Lyle Lovett got married on this day in 1993, though that only lasted about two years.
