In this day and age of downsizing and doing less with more, we look at back at some powerful rock bands that didn’t pare down from anything big, they started out with a measly number of members: three!

No group embodies the spirit of the hard-working power trio more than Rush.

Not only did they have, arguably, the best rock drummer ever and virtuoso lead guitarist, but a dexterous bass player who also played keys. Geddy Lee’s live get-up is legendary, what with all the bass pedals.

But Rush isn’t the only band to make a lot of noise with just three players.

On this week’s Total Recall, Bob the Paper Guy fondly looks back at a few more.
