Death Cab for Cutie front man Ben Gibbard has posted a new track titled “Ichiro’s Theme” to his Soundcloud page. He wrote the song two years ago as a homage to former Seattle Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki, who was traded yesterday (July 23) to the New York Yankees. He writes, “Today seems like the best day to let you all hear it. Thank you, Ichiro.”
Gibbard’s debut solo album Former Lives is to be released on October 16 on Barsuk.
