One man globetrotting banjo player Nathan Bell is one of three recipients to win the coveted $25,000 Mary Sawyers Baker prize of the 2012 Baker Artist Awards.

The Baltimore native uses bows, finger-picks and a claw-hammer style to channel the universe’s energy through his instrument.

He shares with us what winning the award means to him and how this grant program nurtures the Baltimore’s diverse artistic community.
