Evan Chapman is a percussionist from Ellicott City, MD. He is currently studying Classical Percussion Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana. When not at school, he gives lessons in the Baltimore/DC area. He also spends his summers teaching private and group classes at a summer camp in Owings Mills.
In his “free time” (if you can call it that), Chapman produces and films drum and percussion covers for his YouTube channel, which now has well over 100 videos and 400,000 views and has garnered the attention of some well established bands and artists, including Explosions in the Sky. The band recently posted to their Facebook page his cover of their song “Your Hand in Mine.” The videos span an incredibly eclectic mix of artists, ranging from classical composers like John Fitz Rogers to prominent DJ/Producers like Skrillex.
