A short time ago MPT, Maryland Public Television, came by the WTMD studios to film a Baltimore Unsigned session with Higher Hands. The feature was a spotlight on the Baltimore music scene and Baltimore Unsigned’s role in nurturing that scene. The segment features interviews with WTMD Program Director, Scott Mullins, Baltimore Unsigned Host, Sam Sessa, and Baltimore Unsigned Producer and Engineer, Ryan “Bug” Glaeser. Also highlighted in the segment was an interview with Jason “Jay” Crawdads and performances by Higher Hands. Higher Hands consists of Jay Crawdads, Marty Bouchard, Larry Byrne, Troy Atkins, and Marty Grigsby.
Baltimore Unsigned has been on the airwaves at WTMD for five years this year. They have strived to continue to bring Baltimore music to Baltimore music lovers over the past five years. Baltimore Unsigned features an hour of the top artists that Baltimore has to offer. As well as playing songs off Baltimore Band’s albums, Baltimore Unsigned also features a feature segment on a specific Baltimoe artist which gets recorded live in the WTMD studios. The guests have covered all genres of music from rock, folk, hip-hop, blues, jazz, and more. For alot of the artists performing on Baltimore Unsigned, these sessions are heard by the largest audience they have ever performed for, exposing their music to large numbers of listeners.
WTMD not only features Baltimore Musicians on Baltimore Unsigned, but plays Baltimore music all throughout the day right next to some of today’s top national acts. That is how strongly WTMD feels about promoting Baltimore Music and the Baltimore Music scene.
