Every week new music is added to the WTMD playlist and there are four tracks you should be listening for.

The Kooks – “Junk Of The Heart (Happy)”

The band has a new record coming out this fall called Junk Of The Heart. The title track  is really catchy just like a Kooks song should be.

Fool’s Gold – “The Dive”

Think The Clash, Vampire Weekend, Talking Heads, and The Cure, mix them together and you have Fool’s Gold. I can’t help but smile every time I listen to their forthcoming record Leave No Trace.

Nikki Jean – “Rockaway”

Nikki started her career as a back-up singer which probably is the reason she had the courage to reach out to some of her idols to help co-write the songs on her album Pennies In A Jar. “Rockaway” is the product of her collaboration with Carole King.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie”

After a long time away the Peppers are back with  new axeman Josh Klinghoffer, who now holds down the most rotated position in the band. But the sound remains familiar, Klinghoffer shadowed the band’s former guitarist, John Frusciante  for years. Their new record I’m With You will be available at the end of August.
