About WTMD
We believe that music has the power to change the world.
Our playlist focuses on songs that tell stories, and are performed by new and established artists who are committed to their craft.
The industry calls our format AAA; we think of ourselves as a community cultural clearinghouse for street-level arts activities built on new and interesting contemporary popular music.
Licensed to Towson University, WTMD is part of the University Advancement.
Directions to WTMD
These directions use the Charles Street exit off the Beltway.
If you're familiar with the Towson Roundabout, you can head south on York Road and pick up these directions at # 4.
If you're traveling north on York Road towards Towson, make a left (instead of a right) just past Bill Bateman's Bistro.
(If you get to Aigburth, you've gone too far.)
Traveling on the Baltimore Beltway, I-695, take Exit 25 (Charles Street) and go South about 1.7 miles.
Turn left on Towsontown Boulevard.
Stay straight until you’re able to yield right onto West Burke Avenue.
Make a right at the stoplight onto York Road.
(You’ll see a Starbucks on the left of the intersection.)
Continue straight through stoplight at Aigburth. Now, go very slow!
You’ll be turning right very soon. Look for light tan signs that say: Stephens Hall, Van Bokkelen Hall, Speech, Language, Hearing clinic.
Turn right onto the street before the marquee.
You’ll see a map of the University. Continue straight.
You’ll see a pay station on your righthand side. (WTMD will provide a parking code for scheduled guests.)
Once parked, follow the path straight towards buildings on campus.
The Media Center is located to the left, adjacent to the Library.
Enter the Media Center and walk down the stairs and WTMD is on your left.
